Germany – Merkur Casino Bad Oeynhausen hosts DSC Casino Night

By - 1 November 2023

Under the motto DSC Casino Night, Arminia Bielefeld invited its club sponsors to a convivial poker tournament at the Merkur Casino Bad Oeynhausen last Wednesday.

As the official gambling partner of the Black-White-Blues and host of the Bad Oeynhausen Casino, the Gauselmann Group was also part of the party. In close cooperation with the DSC marketing team, the East Westphalian group of companies organized the sponsor event and thus provided the ideal setting for the poker night. The winner received a cheque for 1,905 euros, the value of which will be donated to charity.

David Schnabel, Managing Director of Merkur Spielbanken, and Rainer Schütte, President of DSC Arminia Bielefeld, opened the sponsors’ evening and welcomed a total of around 90 participants, including current and former DSC players, to the Merkur Casino Bad Oeynhausen. “As a casino operator and close partner of Arminia, we are very pleased to host the ‘DSC Casino Night’ and to welcome so many partners and sponsors. This is something very special and underlines the success of our partnership,” explained David Schnabel.

At a total of eight poker tables, the croupiers welcomed the partners and club members. Cards were then dealt, stakes were raised, and players’ poker faces were put to the test. Real money was not used. All those who were less fortunate and were eliminated prematurely were offered an attractive alternative program: In addition to a tour of the casino, the guests were given an introduction to the classic games of roulette and blackjack. On the other hand, those who were able to prove themselves at the poker table until the end played for a cheque in the amount of 1,905 euros – based on the year Arminia was founded. After two hours, the winner of the DSC Casino Night was Mike Ibsch, representative of BKK Gildemeister Seidensticker. The profit is now to be donated to the Erwitt association “Horizontas”, which has been offering grief counselling for children, young people and their families for over ten years.

During the match for the best poker hand, those present also had the opportunity to exchange ideas with other partners of Arminia Bielefeld. With seven points from the previous three games, the form curve at the DSC in the 3rd league clearly showed an upward trend and thus the mood among the supporters was much more relaxed. Accordingly, the end of the poker tournament did not mean the end of the event. “The ‘DSC Casino Night’ was a complete success – both in terms of organisation and atmosphere. A big thank you goes to the Gauselmann Group, which has been a firm partner of ours for many years,” Rainer Schütte concluded.
