Germany – Tipico Group reportedly interested in William Hill’s UK and European business

By - 30 July 2021

German sports betting group Tipico Group has joined the list of companies hoping to buy William Hill’s £1.5bn British betting business from Caesars Entertainment, according to Sky News.

Tipico, owned by CVC Capital Partners, already has a presence in countries such as the United States, Croatia, Colombia, and Austria. It joins companies such as Betfred, 888 Holdings, and Apollo Global Management in the queue to buy William Hill UK.

Private equity firm Advent International is no longer involved in the process, while Entain, the owner of Ladbrokes, is believed to have decided against submitting a formal offer.
