Greece – Deadline pushed back to May for Hellinikon casino

The deadline for applications for the casino planned for the former Ellinikon International Airport in Greece has been extended to been extended to May 31, 2019.

The original deadline for the €1bn Hellinikon casino was April 22.

The Hellenic Gaming Commission said: “Pursuant to Decision No 382/1/01.04.2019 of the Hellenic Gaming Commission (HGC), an extension for the submission of offers and comments on the draft of the Concession Agreement for the concession of a wide-range activities Casino Operating License (EKAZ) in the Hellinikon – Agios Kosmas Metropolitan Pole (Call for Tenders Ref. 1/2019) and on the draft of the Land Agreement is granted.”

Caesars Entertainment, Hard Rock International, Mohegan Gaming & Entertainment and Genting Group have all been linked to the project.

Greek developer Lamda Development has already been selected as the developer of the wider €8bn project.
The successful casino operator will be granted a 30-year gaming license by the Hellenic Gaming Commission for a casino with 500 slots and 100 gaming tables.
