Horizons Casino unveils transformed destination in Leicester Square
Horizons Casino has reopened its doors following a major refurbishment of its gaming floor and hospitality offering at 1 Leicester Square, within the historic Queen’s House. The extensive transformation introduces a sophisticated gaming environment, integrated premium dining by Skewd, and innovative ceiling-mounted atmospheric lighting technology, all designed to redefine the West End casino experience.
As one of Leicester Square’s longest-established casinos with over 35 years of continuous operation, Horizons’ comprehensive revamp marks a significant investment in the capital’s gaming and leisure landscape. The renovation includes a newly added terrace overlooking the square, which seats up to 65 guests, a first in the casino’s history.
The interior design combines rich wood finishes and ambient lighting to deliver an elegant, intimate space that caters to modern players. A key feature is the installation of plasma ceiling screens that shift lighting in line with natural daylight cycles, enhancing the gaming atmosphere by aligning with players’ circadian rhythms.
“Leicester Square has always been synonymous with entertainment excellence, and our refurbished venue reinforces that reputation,” said Jeremy Cummins, Director at Horizons. “We’ve created an environment that respects the serious nature of gaming while providing the comfort and service that today’s players expect.”
The revitalised venue is also home to Skewd at Horizons, a new culinary collaboration with award-winning Anatolian restaurant group Skewd. Founded by executive chef Maz Demir, Skewd brings its signature open fire mangal concept to the casino setting, adding a distinctive dimension to the guest experience. A private dining room for up to 12 guests complements the new offering, catering to both intimate and corporate events.
The partnership introduces high-end Anatolian cuisine to the heart of the West End, expanding Horizons’ appeal beyond gaming to deliver a complete hospitality experience. The venue is open to patrons aged 18 and over.
