South Korea-based IH Group is planning to open a casino at Rota Resort & Country Club next year on the Pacific island of Rota in the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands.

The company is currently renovating the Rota Resort & Country Club with the plan to open a casino, a 276 room hotel and a waterpark there in early 2025. The company, which was given a casino licence in July, will have to pay an annual licence fee of $200,000, with a minimum investment threshold.

Future plans include the roll-out of another two casinos and an online gaming operation. IH Group already has a venue with five baccarat tables, one blackjack table, and 30 slot machines on the island.

The Northern Mariana Islands is already home to the shuttered Imperial Pacific Resort in Saipan owned by troubled casino operator Imperial Pacific International
