India – Politician pushes for casinos in coastal region of Maharashtra

A politician in India is hoping to bring casino gaming to the coastal region of Maharashtra, north of Goa, in a move that he says will boost tourism to the region.

Manoj Chavan, general secretary of the right-wing Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) said: “The revenue of our state will undoubtedly rise in a positive way if casinos are introduced along the Konkan coast.”
