Italy – Aristocrat plays key role in Casinó di Venezia slot floor redevelopment

By - 25 August 2016

Two of Aristocrat Technologies’ premium licensed slot games are playing key roles in a major renovation of the slot floor at the world’s oldest established gaming house, the Municipality-owned Casinó di Venezia in Venice, Italy.

Lightning Link has gone live at Ca’ Noghera, situated close to Marco Polo International Airport, marking Italy’s first installation of the multi-denomination linked progressive currently taking the gaming world by storm, following successful deployments elsewhere in Europe including Germany, Monaco, France, Malta, Northern Cyprus, Estonia, Latvia, Slovenia and Bulgaria.

The Game of Thrones Slot Game, on the multi-award winning Arc Double cabinet, has also been introduced at the front of the foremost slot hall, taking stage as the casino’s centrepiece.

Eros Ganzina, who in April this year became the first General Manager of Casinó di Venezia to be appointed following a public invitation to tender, outlined his strategy to rejuvenate the world’s oldest gaming brand.

“Having established a new management structure and set ourselves challenging performance targets, we are aiming to win back customers in what is now a highly competitive landscape through improving our entertainment offering,” he said. “This reorganisation begins with a major redevelopment of the slot floor, the first phase involving 110 machine movements scheduled for completion in time for Ca’ Noghera’s 17th anniversary celebrations taking place across August 25 to 27, the theme of which will centre around fun fair-style amusement.”

Aristocrat games now constitute 25 per cent of Ca’ Noghera’s 530-machine gaming estate, with another major link, the Asian-themed Good Fortune, also providing a powerful backdrop in another of the casino’s slot halls.

“We have been impressed with the performance and popularity of Aristocrat’s linked and standalone games,” continued Mr Ganzina. “And feel safe in the knowledge that the next generation of games will continue to deliver even greater player appeal. Both Lightning Link and Game of Thrones have started off very strongly and will play a major part in our anniversary re-launch.”

James Boje, Aristocrat Technologies’ Managing Director – EMEA, commented: “Casinó di Venezia ranks amongst the most prestigious gaming destinations in Europe and we are naturally delighted to feature so strongly in its redevelopment plans. This is a testament to the efficacy of our games – both hardware and software – and to the continued investment in design and development of world class gaming entertainment.”

Mr Ganzina concluded: “Having proved one of our most reliable partners over a long historical period, we look forward to further strengthening our relations with Aristocrat and continuing to offer our customers the best and latest gaming innovations from around the world.”
