Italy – Improving Casino de la Vallée still described as economically fragile

By - 9 January 2023

In its restructuring plan for Casino de la Vallée in Italy, the Regional Control Section of the Court of Auditors for Valle d’Aosta has described the property as having a ‘fragile economic situation.’

The first 11 months of 2022 saw the casino generate GGR of €55.8m better than the forecasts for the 12-month composition plan. However auditors said: “The situation of the casino, although supported by slight movements aimed at recovering a long-term sustainable balance, presents a rather fragile overall economic and financial situation.”

Its verdict came in its ‘Report on the corporate restructuring plan of the company Casino de la Vallée Spa,’ approved by the Regional Council of Valle d’Aosta.

It added that it aimed to provide ‘points of reference for the adoption of any decision that will be necessary in the future phases of the management of the casino, whose centrality in the economic fabric of the Region cannot be questioned and whose management options are (and remain) in the exclusive determination of the regional bodies.’
