Japan – Japan’s lower house likely to vote on Implementation Bill tomorrow
By Phil - 18 June 2018Japan’s lower house of parliament is likely to vote tomorrow on what the country’s new casinos will look like following the passage of the IR Implementation Bill through the lower house cabinet committee last week.
Whilst the opposition could try and postpone the vote, Prime Minister Shinzo Abe wants a conclusion to the long running saga and is likely to extend the ordinary session of parliament giving the upper house opportunity to discuss and vote on the bill. The ruling party’s majority means the legislation is almost certain to pass in that chamber.
