Laos – Laos government looks for owner for Savan Vegas

By - 22 October 2015

Savan Vegas Hotel and Entertainment Complex, a fully-fledged casino hotel located in Savannakhet in Laos, close to the Thailand border, has been put up for sale by the Laos government.

The sale will be handled by US private investment company San Marco Capital Partners who will hold a competitive bid process on behalf of the Laos government.

Kelly Gass, President of San Marco Capital Partners, is currently managing director of the complex, which includes “a full-service casino, a hotel and numerous entertainment and leisure offerings.”

The complex, close to the border with Thailand, was previously operated by Bridge Capital under the guise of Macau-based Sanum Investments Ltd and Lao Holdings, although that ownership ended following a police investigation regarding Bridge’s Chief Executive John Baldwin and how the Savan Vegas casino had been operated. The Laos government took back control of the operation and appointed an interim management team.
