Latvia – Casino sector to reopen in Latvia on June 9

The Latvian casino sector will be allowed to reopen tomorrow (June 9) after its parliament approved a bill to lift the suspension due to the coronavirus pandemic on March 22.
Some Conservative Party members Krišjānis Feldmans, Gatis Eglītis and Linda Ozola submitted an updated bill that aims at continuing the land-based gambling ban in Latvia.
The Latvian Gaming Association (LGA) said: “Even before the ban on gambling, industry operators implemented both the virus prevention measures set out in the recommendations of the authorities and measures promoting safe and responsible gambling.”
