Malta – BGaming report highlights synergies between videogame and online slot players

By - 29 July 2021

BGaming’s latest industry insight report for Q2 shows that PC and console games are popular amongst slot amateurs.

According to a poll arranged by the BGaming team, almost 40 per cent of the audience prefer to play both video games and online slots, testifying that more players come to gambling for fun and impressions first.

“A similar number, 36,98 per cent, showcases that many players often bet on sports or esports. In the future, the tendency can stimulate the development of groundbreaking solutions combining two areas of entertainment,” noted Bogdan Gres, Brand Manager at BGaming.

The report shows that 95.3 per cent of players play slots on mobile devices. In comparison to the Q1 data, this share has increased by 1.08 per cent, showing that desktop games are rapidly falling behind their mobile versions. The corresponding quarter in 2020 was 77.16 per cent.

“When creating art visualising features for a game, options for mobile devices are developed first. We pay much attention to the game’s performance: graphics content optimisation, animations and effects.

“At the same time, the quality of games should remain high. A key challenge is to find a balance between quality and performance. The trend brings many changes. Games can be simplified in terms of content and effects, but at the same time, technology goes fast.

“For example, with the increasing availability of 5G technology, new opportunities open up for game developers”, highlighted Yulia Aliakseyeva, Game Producer at BGaming.
