Monaco – Table gaming revival boosts SBM by 11 per cent
By Phil - 8 July 2019Monte-Carlo casino group Société des Bains de Mer generated revenues of €526.5m for the full year 2018/2019, up 11 per cent, meaning the Monegasque group kept pace with the overall growth in the French casino sector.
The operator said its €51.9 m increase over the year was the result of ‘improved revenues in all business segments.’ The growth was mainly due to the increase in table gaming revenue, which amounted to €108.4mfor the year-to-date, up 24 per cent. Slot and ETG revenues were stable at €101.9m. Hotel revenues came in at €253.7m, up from €234.7m in 2017/2018. This was due in part to better activity at the Hôtel de Paris, as well as at the Monte-Carlo Bay Hotel & Resort. Likewise, the reopening of Jimmy’z and the opening of the new Coya restaurant have had a positive impact on the hotel sector.
