More local businesses lend support to Caesars Palace Times Square
Caesars Palace Times Square, the bid from SL Green, Caesars Entertainment, and Roc Nation to bring a state-of-the-art gaming and entertainment destination to 1515 Broadway in Times Square has received more support from local businesses with The Town Hall, a historic entertainment venue and cultural center in Times Square, and Sony Hall, a one-of-a-kind, multi-genre live concert theater, announcing their backing.
The venues’ support for the project is a testament to the commitment by Caesars Palace Times Square and Roc Nation to champion the live entertainment industry in Times Square and the project’s capacity to drive customers to all the theaters and commercial entertainment businesses in Times Square thereby delivering an economic boost to New York’s most important commercial district.
“As a historic cornerstone of New York’s cultural community, The Town Hall is proud to support Caesars Palace Times Square,” said Matt Goldman, Executive Director of The Town Hall. “This project represents a vital opportunity to fuel the continued resurgence of Times Square. By drawing more visitors to the area, I genuinely believe Caesars Palace Times Square will help drive additional commerce, increase ticket sales for live performances, and strengthen the entire ecosystem that supports our city’s world-renowned arts and culture sector.”
Tsion Bensusan, Chief Operating Officer of Sony Hall, said: “As one of New York City’s most iconic music theaters, we understand the vital role that entertainment plays in making the Big Apple – and Times Square, in particular – a world-class destination. Caesars Palace Times Square represents a transformative opportunity to strengthen our industry in this neighborhood, creating a powerful new tourism draw that will benefit theaters of all sizes. We’re proud to join this project and support a vision that will help ensure Times Square remains the world’s premier entertainment district.”
“Roc Nation is dedicated to fostering creative talent and creating an environment where New York art and culture can thrive. Support from The Town Hall and Sony Hall allows us to continue preserving New York’s legacy of being the entertainment mecca,” said Desiree Perez, CEO of Roc Nation. “We want to make Times Square into a destination for native New Yorkers as much as tourists.”
Caesars Palace Times Square and Roc Nation will sponsor multiple live events each year at The Town Hall and Sony Hall, helping drive even more visitors to the venues and allowing them to enrich and expand their offerings.
The Town Hall and Sony Hall will partner with Caesars Palace Times Square on a number of initiatives to support the live entertainment industry in and around Times Square. The Town Hall and Sony Hall will host workforce development events to help connect Hell’s Kitchen and other New York-based workers with jobs at Caesars Palace Times Square.
In addition to investing in community partnerships like those with The Town Hall and Sony Hall, Caesars Palace Times Square will bring Caesars Entertainment’s powerful Caesars Rewards loyalty program to New York City, allowing Caesars to inject millions of new dollars into the local economy. Along with world-class gaming and entertainment, Caesars Palace Times Square will retrofit an office tower into a new, gleaming hotel in the heart of the theater district. The coalition supporting the bid now includes more than 200 organizations and businesses including local restaurants, hotels, residents, unions and Broadway stakeholders.
