Nepal – Delta Corp cleared to open a casino at the Marriot Hotel in Nepal

Delta Corp has now received a license for operating a casino at the Marriot Hotel in Nepal and will start operations soon.

Dilip Vaidya, General Manage of Delta Corp, said: “With reference to the company entering into a Memorandum of Understanding for leasing space at the five star Marriot Hotel in Kathmandu, Nepal to operate a casino, we would like to inform you that our subsidiary in Nepal has been issued a license for operating a Casino in Nepal. The operations of the casino at the Marriot Hotel in Kathmandu are expected to commence soon.”

In Goa, Delta Corp owns the Deltin Suites, a 106 room hotel with a casino. It also operates Casino Deltin Denzong located at the Denzong Regency hotel in Gangtok, in Sikkim and The Deltin, a 176 room five-star hotel in Daman, which is an integrated resort with a proposed casino. It is the only listed company engaged in the casino (live, electronic and online) gaming industry in India. The company also runs the online poker site ‘Adda52.com’, the online rummy site ‘Adda52rummy.com’ and the online fantasy sports site ‘LeagueAdda.com.’

The chance to operate at the Marriot follows a deal with Everest Hospitality and Hotel Pvt Ltd, to rent space at the hotel in Kathmandu, which opened in July last year.
