Nepal – Tiger Palace to open March 1

By - 23 February 2017

Silver Heritage Group has said it will open the Tiger Palace Resort Casino in Nepal at the start of March.

The Australia-listed casino operator had planned to hold a soft opening in February but said it was ‘encountering temporary unexpected delays’ to the opening citing a ‘shortage of liquidity in Nepal’s banking system.’

The new venue will boast a 26,600 square foot casino with 52 gaming tables and 200 slots as well as conference hall, meeting rooms, retail and various food and beverage outlets. The resort will also include a 400 room hotel.

Last July, Silver Heritage raised $18.8 m through an initial public offering (IPO). It is planning to open two other casinos at the Indian border.

It has appointed Jason Turnbull as General Manager of Operations Finance at the new resort. Formerly Senior Finance Operations Manager and GM Finance at Jupiters Hotel & Casino from 2007 to 2015 and former SVP Finance at Grand Ho Tram in Vietnam from 2015 to 2016, he brings over nine years of casino finance and operations experience in senior management roles at Casino Resorts in Australia and Vietnam.

Enrico Dovadola has been appointed as Casino Manager of Tiger Palace Resort. Formerly VP Casino Operations at MGM Macau, VP Table Games at Melco-Crown, and most recently Director of Gaming Operations at Grand Ho Tram in Vietnam, he brings over 18 years of casino operations experience in senior management roles at Casino Resorts in Australia, Macau, and Vietnam.

The company already operates Millionaire’s Club in Kathmandu’s Shangri La Hotel & Resort and the Phoenix International Club near Hanoi, Vietnam.
