Philippines – Alliance Global Group to press on with Boracay casino project

By - 6 September 2021

Alliance Global Group has confirmed it will move ahead with plans to build a second casino on the Philippine holiday island of Boracay after President Rodrigo Duterte decided to abolish the ban on new casino developments.

The company, owned by billionaire Andrew Tan, could add a casino to the Boracay Newcoast theme park being built by Megaworld Corporation, also owned by Mr. Tan.

He confirmed: “We will proceed with our casino project in Boracay Newcoast. We already have several hotels there and we are still building more. I’m hopeful that the tourism industry in this island will recover fast after the pandemic.”

Alliance Global Group owns half of Travellers International, the operating force behind Resorts World Manila. Travellers also has a stake in Entertainment City’s Westside Resorts World project.
