Philippines – Manila adds to Singapore success for MEI

By - 14 October 2013

Four years into its operation, performance and operational efficiencies have increased MEI’s share at Resorts World Manila to nearly 80 per cent after opening with 65 per cent of a 1,800-slot machine floor.

Experience from four years of operations has led to a dramatic shift in the mix of note acceptors.  The property originally opened with a mixed floor, but has gradually increased the MEI share to 79 per cent by specifying the SC family of products with EasiTrax Soft Count on new games since October 2010.

“Actual performance has proven the value of the MEI product,” said Frankie Loh, senior director – slot operations – Resorts World Manila. “The value we have derived from Cashflow SC, and now SC Advance, together with Easitrax made the decision to specify MEI moving forward.

“Having a comprehensive cash management process – from the floor to the soft count room – with best-in-class components impacts so many aspects of our operations.  MEI provides much more than products.  They have combined products and service into a package that is much larger than we could have imagined from a note acceptor supplier.”

As the largest casino in Manila, Resorts World is in a leadership position for a market growing at a rapid rate.  The recently opened Solaire Resort and Casino, Manila’s second largest casino, also specified SC Advance and EasiTrax Soft Count for the 1,200 slot machines on the floor.  These two properties continue MEI’s success in Asia – having been specified in both Singapore properties (Resorts World Sentosa and Marina Bay Sands) and numerous casinos in Macau.

“Winning additional business based on the performance of our products and service makes us very proud,” said Graeme Lewis, vice president – Asia Pacific.  “MEI has always been willing to let our products do the talking.  And results speak volumes about the importance of making the right decisions across the entire cash management process.”

The combination of SC Advance and EasiTrax Soft Count, which is now installed in over 100,000 games worldwide, has evolved MEI’s role as a components supplier to a cash management partner. EasiTrax is an integrated software/hardware system that boosts casino profits by streamlining the overall cash management process.

“Resorts World Manila’s decision was based on the advantages of both SC Advance and EasiTrax,” said Mr. Lewis.  “Offering a comprehensive solution – from the slot floor to the soft count room – has changed the way our customers view MEI.  That has made a difference in Manila and throughout Asia.”
