Philippines – PAGCOR pitches 2026 as the year revenues will break 2019’s figures

By - 27 July 2022

PAGCOR, the Philippines gaming regulator, has stated that it will be another four years until its GGR is back up to pre-COVID 2019 levels.

PAGCOR’s licensing and regulatory group chief, Daniel Cecilio gave the 2026 prediction to Reuters, saying: “Definitely there will be no more lockdowns but bringing back the confidence of players is hard.”

In 2019 Philippines casino revenues peaked at Php256bn (US$4.62bn) before falling by 54.3 per cent.

Mr Cecilio believes GGR will only surpass 2019 revenues in 2026 with a prediction of Php256bn (US$4.62bn) that year, fueled by pent-up demand and better consumer confidence from domestic and international players.
