Romania – Acapture authorised to process gambling payments in all European regions

By - 7 March 2017

Acapture, global, data-driven omnichannel PSP, has received the license class II from the Romanian National Gambling Office, authorising it to process Romanian online gambling payments.

With this license, Acapture can now help gambling companies operating in all major European regions to maximize their revenue.

The class II license issued by the Romanian National Gambling Office is intended for a range of third-party companies that work with gambling operators, including payment processors. Whereas most countries require just the gambling companies to apply for such official licenses, Romania requires the merchants’ payment service providers to also obtain a specific license to process Romanian online gambling payments. During the application process for this license, the payment processor is put under a thorough and comprehensive review. Based on the review’s findings, the Romanian National Gambling Office decides whether or not the PSP is entitled to authorisation.

“Now that we are licensed across Europe, our gambling solution is the complete package,” said Cheng Liem Li, Chief Commercial Officer at Acapture. “It is equipped with all the payment features gambling companies need, with maximum uptime, support for the payout of winnings and in-depth regional knowledge to deal smoothly with scheme changes.

As a payment processor strongly focused on supporting cross-border business for our merchants, Acapture’s goal is to make international gambling payments as seamless as possible. Obtaining the class II license in Romania means Acapture can support all gambling merchants fulfill their international growth objectives.
