By - 17 December 2015

The Gauselmann Merkur Gaming brand has supplied Russia’s largest casino resort, the palatial Tigre de Cristal, with a range of Avantgarde Slant Top machines.

The soft opening of the Tigre de Cristal took place on October 8 and, after just five weeks, the Avantgarde Slant Tops have consistently demonstrated above floor average performance and with their modern design and wide selection of games blend in harmoniously with the high-quality casino ambience. The multigamer scores with high-resolution images and game animations of outstanding quality.

In total the casino features more than 600 gaming machines and over 60 casino tables. It recently celebrated its Grand Opening in the Primorsky Kraigaming zone near Vladivostok.

“Our partnership with the First Gambling Company of the East LLC (FGCE) was established back in February during ICE 2015 in London,” explained Alexander Moor, Merkur Gaming Sales Manager.

“I would like to thank FGCE for collaborating with Merkur Gaming in such an excellent way.” Alexander Moor continued. “The Grand Opening on 11 November clearly demonstrated that Vladivostok now boasts one of the most modern casinos in the world. We are proud to be involved in Tigre de Cristal with our Avantgarde Slant Top star product.”

Ian Wood, Vice President, Slots at the Tigre de Cristal is also highly satisfied with the performance of the new machines: “Since choosing to open the Tigre de Cristal Casino and Resort with Avantgarde Slant Tops from Merkur Gaming, these games have proven to be very popular with our customers, and I am very happy so far with the revenue figures we have seen from the Merkur Games. Customers like the choice of games available and, on most nights, our Merkur machines are all being played.”

The Russian Primorsky Kraigaming zone, near Vladivostok on the Pacific coast, attracts above all Asian and Russian players and can easily be reached in just two hours by plane from China, Korea and Japan. Through its local subsidiary Merkur Rus, the Gauselmann Group has a strong locational advantage in Russia and an important USP, in terms of market knowledge and service capability, vis-à-vis its competitors. In addition to Vladivostok, the company has also installed Merkur Gaming machines at the Altai and Asov gaming zones. Further high profile casinos are to be opened at the new gaming zones in Sotchi and Kaliningrad during 2016.

“The installation in the Tigre de Cristal is an important step for our future in Russia. With our colleagues from Merkur Rus we are represented locally with a reliable and highly competent team. We aim to exploit this locational advantage even more strongly in future as we make further inroads into the Russian gaming market,” concluded Markus Wessler, Sales Director, Merkur Gaming.
