Russia – Sochi candidate for casinos

By - 2 January 2013

Momentum continues to build behind the prospect of turning the city of Sochi, located in the Krasnodar Krai region of Russia, into an officially designated gambling zone. The proposal to open a casino in the city with robust and operational infrastructure is tempting, but the law clearly provides only for four such zones in the country. In fact, the only operational zone is Azov-City, but there the casinos are located in an isolated and remote location. However, the region’s governor Alexander Tkachev has denied rumors of the possibility of legalising gambling in Krasnaya Polyana or anywhere in Sochi.
