SJM Holdings to close Casino Grandview on July 30
SJM Holdings has confirmed that Casino Grandview in Downtown Taipa, Macau, will officially cease operations ahead of schedule on July 30 2025.
SJM has committed to closing nine of its satellite casinos by the end of 2025, with the intention of buying its other two satellite interests, Ponte 16 and L’Arc, outright.
All gaming tables currently operating at the location will be redeployed to other casinos of the Company to continue serving our valued customers. Customers holding chips, deposits, or cash rebates accumulated at Casino Grandview that remain unredeemed after its closure may visit the cage at Casino Casa Real, located at Avenida do Dr. Rodrigo Rodrigues, no. 1118, Macau, to arrange follow-up handling from 31 July 2025 onwards. The Company will ensure that all customer entitlements are duly honoured.
The company said: “SJM places strong emphasis on safeguarding local employment. All local employees employed by SJM will remain employed and be reassigned to other casinos of SJM to undertake gaming-related roles according to operational needs. Local employees working at Casino Grandview who are not employed by SJM will be invited to apply for related vacancies within the Group with priority in hiring in equal circumstances, and will be provided with the necessary support, depending on the actual situation, to facilitate a smooth transition.
“SJM will carry out all necessary arrangements in accordance with legal requirements to ensure an orderly transition. As always, the Company remains committed to fulfilling its corporate responsibilities and contributing to the stable development of Macau’s gaming sector in partnership with the local community.”
SJM also confirmed its expansion into in Hengqin where it will turn office properties at Xin De Kou An Shang Wu Zhong Xin into a three-star hotel, to become a part of an established lifestyle hub comprising residential, retail and office space immediately adjacent to the Hengqin Port facility.
The project aims to expand the Group’s hospitality footprint in the Greater Bay Area, support the integrated development of the Hengqin Guangdong–Macao In-Depth Cooperation Zone, and strengthen Hengqin’s role as a key driver of Macau’s moderate economic diversification. It also contributes to deeper integration between Hengqin and Macau, and supports Macau’s continued integration into the nation’s overall development strategy.
