By - 25 October 2018

Austrian gaming giant Novomatic has bought two casinos in Slovenia taking its total number of operations in the country to seven.

It has bought the Kongo Hotel & Casino in Grosuplje, about 20 kilometers south of Ljubljana, and Casino Lev, located in the Laibacher Hotel for almost €15m from Joc Pececnik, the fourth richest man in Slovenia and the owner of the Slovenian gaming company Interblock.

Novomatic now operates seven out of 26 casinos in the country, equating to 27 per cent of the Slovenian gambling market, including casinos and hotels in Kozina, Skofije and Ptuj, as well as slot halls in Maribor and Lesce under the Admiral Slovenija brand.
