By - 9 November 2020

Spanish gambling group, Orenes Group, has said it has taken the ‘tough decision’ to permanently close Gran Casino Logroño in Logroño, in northern Spain, south of Bilbao, due to the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Located in the old part of the city, the casino has been in operation for 15 years. Grupo Orenes has invested more than €13m in the facilities since its opening in 2005 but has accumulated €12.5m in losses during these years.

The operator still has casinos in Costa Meloneras, the Casino Gran Canaria, León and in Mexico with three casinos in the states of Querétaro, Guanajuato and Chihuahua.
