Spain – Sports betting revenue falls 15 per cent year-on-year

Spain’s regulatory body, Dirección General de Ordenación del Juego (DGOJ), has recorded a 15 per cent year-on-year fall in sports betting to €85.2m in its latest quarterly figures.

Online revenue for Q3 2020 was €235m, representing a six per cent decrease on Q2 revenues and a marginal growth on the corresponding quarter in 2019. Live betting fell nine per cent (€52.6m) and pre-match betting declined by 21 per cent (€31.5m).

Online casino revenue rose by more than a quarter (€83.9m), comprised of slots (€49.8m), live roulette (€22.4m) and online poker (€23m). Cash games revenue was €6.5m and bingo €4m.
