Spain – Study tracks average gaming spend

A study published today by Spain’s EAE Business School has revealed statistics from the Spanish spending on ‘Snuff, Alcohol and Gambling in 2014.’ The study, published by EAE, shows that each Spaniard spends on gambling and casinos an average of €76 a year, two per cent more than the previous year. By region, Castilian Leon, Asturias and Basque have a population with the most prolific players in Spain, where the average spend per person is 93 euros, 84 euros and 76 euros per year respectively. Those who spend less are located in the Canaries, Balearic islands and Catalan regions, with 40 euros, 43 euros and 56 euros respectively.

According to the report, snuff spending per person in Spain last year amounted to €206.37 per year, while the average Spaniard smokes 2,462 cigarettes per year. The spend upon alcohol in 2013, per person in Spain, averaged €684.
