On May 29, 2025, the Bad Kissingen casino will celebrate its 70th anniversary with a birthday raffle and a performance from the band 4Tex.

Regional personalities from politics, business and sports will sell lucky coins, giving players the chance to participate in various attractions. The proceeds from the campaign will go to two local projects – the reconstruction of the “Kissinger Hütte”, which was almost destroyed in a major fire, and the support of a preparatory school facility of the Saaletalschule (SVE).

A spokesperson said: “Anyone who visits Bad Kissingen can feel it, the incomparable atmosphere, the breath of history, the special ambience of the former world bath, in whose spa gardens – one of the oldest in Europe – crowned heads strolled, high-ranking politicians sought relaxation and famous poets and thinkers were inspired. The history of the Bad Kissingen casino can also be traced back to 1830, the year the casino was founded. So the game of luck has been at home in Bad Kissingen for a long time. At that time, it was mainly the rich and the aristocracy who passed the time with card games such as “Pharaoh”, “Hazard” or “Basette” and had been looking for fun and excitement playing roulette since the beginning of the 19th century. Even today, you can admire an old roulette wheel from that time (1839) in the casino.

“After several phases of closure and reopening – the last in 1968 in the historic Luitpold Casino, which was built in 1796 – the casino is now an elegant house in neoclassical style, which offers a diverse and modern range of games on around 1,000 square metres, but has lost none of the charm of the old casino atmosphere – from the architecture to the sophisticated interior design to the staff in their tuxedos. A perfect place for excitement, games, events and celebrations. And this has been the case for 70 years.”
