Spielbank Bad Kötzting follows up record-breaking year with 25th anniversary celebration
Having enjoyed its best-ever year of revenues in 2023, the Spielbank Bad Kötzting in Bavaria was back in its 25th year of operations with equally impressive results, only dipping slightly from its personal best despite a challenging economy.
The casinos in Bavaria are overseen by the State Lottery and Casino Administration based in Munich, which belongs to the portfolio of the Bavarian State Ministry of Finance and Community.
Minister of Finance and Home Affairs Albert Füracker said on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the Bad Kötzting Casino on February 25: “For 25 years, the Spielbank Bad Kötzting has been offering a varied and at the same time serious range of games at a high level and a varied supporting programme in a very modern ambience. The casino, which currently has around 60 employees, has established itself as a culturally firmly anchored part of the city and the entire region. Around one million visitors have visited the ‘Blue Gem’ since it opened in 2000,.”
“After the record year 2023 with around 6.6m euros, a very considerable gross gaming revenue of almost 6 million euros was also generated in Bad Kötzting in 2024. My heartfelt thanks and congratulations to all those responsible on site, at the city, the district and above all, of course, to the casino directors responsible for this period and all employees. They have succeeded in successfully leading the casino through the challenges of past years and positioning it in the best possible way for the future. Together we can look back with pride on what has been achieved so far and 25 years of casino history in Bad Kötzting! Congratulations and all the best for the next 25 years,” said Füracker.
Claus Niederalt, President of the State Lottery and Casino Administration, said: “Since its opening, the Bad Kötzting Casino has become a real crowd puller in the region. It is not only a place of happiness, but also an economic engine for the region. Since its opening, Bad Kötzting has benefited not only from the rental income but also from a municipal share of the casino tax amounting to almost 12 million euros. The success story of the casino shows how a casino can set positive impulses far beyond the game.”
As one of nine casinos in Bavaria, the Bad Kötzting casino stands for safe and reputable gaming on state-of-the-art machines and gaming tables. It is also characterised by a particularly attractive and multi-layered supporting programme with regular art exhibitions as well as music performances and a very good culinary offer. The “Talk.Eat.Play” event series, in which a prominent guest from the region is a guest in the newly designed casino lounge, enjoys great popularity.
