Super Astro sales expected to see significant growth in Colombia
Sales for Super Astro one of most popular games of chance in Colombia are projected to surpass COP 4.1 trillion over the next five years. Super Astro represents about 13 percent of the national gaming market.
“Our expectation is that this significant increase in sales will represent around 781 billion additional pesos to transfer to the subsidized health system in Colombia over the next five years,” stated Marco Emilio Hincapié, president of Coljuegos.
To achieve these projections, the entity has been working with the concessionaire Corredor Empresarial to implement marketing strategies that will continue to make the game attractive to players of the Astro Sol and Astro Luna draws, as well as to attract new players.
In addition, Coljuegos recently hired a new oversight firm, Consorcio Interventoría Itecoplan, which will be responsible for technical, financial, and legal monitoring of the game’s operation.
The overseer will be in charge of ensuring strict compliance with the contractual conditions and technical requirements of the operation through the sales terminals of the game operating in the 32 departments of the country.
“This joint effort between the regulator, operator, and overseer aims to contribute significantly to the financing of the health system in Colombia. Our mission at Coljuegos is to maximize the resources transferred to the State from the exploitation rights,” added Hincapié. Currently, there are 43,230 vending machines for this game in 1,102 municipalities across the country.
