Sweden – Aspire Global fined by Swedish Gambling Authority

Aspire Global has been fined by Spelinspektionen (The Swedish Gambling Authority) following the delayed integration with the national self-shutdown register Spelpaus. In addition to a warning, Spelinspektionen has decided on a penalty fee amounting to SEK3m.
Aspire Global has been notified of the decision by Spelinspektionen. In favour of Aspire Global, the report states that the infringement took place when Spelpaus was newly established as a service and the obligation to apply the function was new to all licensees, and that the infringement ceased after a relatively short period of time. Aspire Global shares Spelinspektionen’s ambition to promote a healthy gaming behaviour and regrets the turn of events.
