The Netherlands – EuroMat names Eduardo Antoja as new President

By - 2 June 2015

EuroMat’s members have elected Eduardo Antoja, President of the Asociación Española de Empresarios de Máquinas Recreativas, FACOMARE, as their new President at the association’s Annual General Meeting on May 27 in Amsterdam.

Mr. Antoja will be supported by John White – CEO of the British Amusement Catering Trades Association, BACTA, as Vice-President, and Mirjana Acimovic, President of the Serbian Association of Gaming Operators, Authorized Technicians and Producers of Slot Machines and Equipment for Games of chance, JAKTA, as Treasurer. The trio replaces Annette Kok, Helmut Kafka and Roberto Dongiovanni, who depart after several years of service to EuroMat.

EuroMat’s members also welcomed the Belgian Gaming Association, BGA, as the federation’s newest member.
Eduardo Antoja said: “I’m honoured to have been chosen to represent EUROMAT at the highest level at a time when its existence has never been so important to its members. Our industry faces a challenging environment in terms of tax and regulation as European governments struggle to get to grips with a changing multi-channel gaming market. We need to help regulators establish simplified rules and a level playing field to encourage vibrant gaming across all channels to the benefit of players, governments and our sector.”

John White added: “As a team we represent markets with considerable volume, variation of regulation and geography. This will help us to ensure that we represent the interests of all EuroMat’s members.”
Mirjana Acimovic added: “As one of EuroMat’s newer members, I am pleased to have been trusted by my colleagues to steer the work of the association. As a fresh pair of eyes, I can help to ensure that we remain focused on delivering value for the membership.”
