UK – ACOS continues to deliver despite uncertain times

By - 24 October 2022

The 2022 Autumn Coin-Op Show (ACOS) ended on October 20 with high levels of satisfaction expressed by exhibitors and visitors alike.

Occupying a unique slot in the industry calendar, a busy show upheld the ACOS tradition of serious business in a relaxed and convivial environment.

Commenting on a packed show floor, Organiser Karen Cooke disclosed: “ACOS was originally launched in 2014 at the request of the UK Amusements and Coin-Op Industry and its participants have been generous with their support ever since. The show has hit upon a winning strategy so we should stick with it.

“For sure there were concerns about the UK economy being discussed on the exhibition floor, but our experience was that participants were pragmatic and focused on delivering the best possible experience for their customers and guests,” assured Karen.

Mike Clokie, Managing Director of E-Service, was in no doubt about the show’s value: “Booking exhibition stand space is always an emotive subject; do you really get value for money? The ACOS show delivers; small, well-attended, and efficiently organised. A chance to do business and network without unnecessary cost. Don’t miss out!” advises Mike.

The timing of ACOS has always been perfect for manufacturers to gain feedback on products scheduled for release in the New Year. Increasingly, however, manufacturers are launching new products at the show. Almost half of the exhibitors at this year’s show had announced new product launches prior to the event.

Playsafe Systems chose ACOS for the launch of ‘Click,’ their new management software tool developed in association with VMA Systems. Managing Director Ian Fuller was pleased with visitor attendance: “ACOS is a proper show at the right time of year. People are willing to invest, and we saw the customers we’d hoped to,” confirmed Ian.

On the UDC stand business was also brisk, with Matt Bland commenting: “There has been good attendance and we’ve seen big customers. People have been upbeat, but with an air of caution; it has definitely been worthwhile.”

Contactless payment solutions provider ASK Global Solutions also had a productive show: “We were busier than last year with people seeking us out and ready to do business. We saw many of our customers and a lot of new faces as well,” revealed Technical Director Rupert Pilgrim.

As always, Networking was very prominent, on Exhibitor stands, at refreshment areas and at the well-attended ACOS First Evening Networking Reception.

The continuing success of ACOS owes a great deal to an exclusive focus on the UK market. Products on show are compliant and appropriate for the UK operators and site owners who attend in large numbers.

In a world increasingly dominated by a one-size-fits-all philosophy, the focus and relevance of ACOS is a refreshing alternative.
