UK – Aspers Stratford to host US-based poker tour

Aspers Super Casino Westfield Stratford City is to host one of America’s biggest poker tournaments.

It’s the first time the Deep Stacks Poker Tour has come to the UK and the event is expected to attract a host of high-profile players from across Europe. The five-day series, which will take place between October 22 to 26, will include several American poker champions including Michael ‘The Grinder’ Mizrachi, Mike Matusow and Tristan ‘Cre8ive’ Wade.

The highlight of the series will be the £650 Main Event which will be broadcast live around the world.
DeepStacks Poker Tour CEO Chris Torina said: “Our goal has always been to increase our global footprint in key strategic markets like the United Kingdom. Partnering with Aspers Casino, the number one gaming destination in London, is very exciting. We look forward to a great event.”

As well as London, the tour will also be visiting Los Angeles, Canada and Malta.
Aspers Head of Poker, John Scanlon, said: “The first time I sat down with Chris Torina to discuss the possibility of bring the DeepStacks Poker Tour to London, I knew we could do something really special. The idea is to connect players from both sides of the Atlantic for an exciting event in the English capital.”

The DeepStacks Poker Tour is a Los Angeles-based US and international tournament series which features live-stream broadcasting, player-friendly structures and the participation of poker professionals.

Aspers Stratford is the company’s flagship UK Casino, playing host to more than 140,000 guests every month.

As well as two bars, one with a terrace overlooking the Olympic Park, and a restaurant, the casino features 50 live gaming tables, the largest Poker Room in London with over 400 seats, 150 slot machines, 150 electronic live terminals and live sports betting terminals.
