UK – Betcade ceases operations

By - 13 January 2017

The Android gaming App store, Betcade, has announced it’s closing all business operations as of this month. The company, which has spent the last 18 months developing an Android-based, gambling-focused mobile hub to connect players and operators, today released a statement from its Founder and CEO, David Chang, explaining that the company is to close the business in an orderly manner.

Mr. Chang commented: “Start-ups seek to positively influence the industry which they are in, however, this comes with considerable risk as a business. After evaluating our options, it was determined that the best course of action for the company was to close the business and look after our people the best we can.”

Betcade had been due to commence its mobile services following the ICE show in London, having previously launched its Betcade Pay payment function in December and developed its user interface with design agency, Fantasy at the start of 2016. The reasons for the closure have not been disclosed, nor has any statement been made as to a future ‘home’ for the technology developed by Betcade.

Mr. Chang concluded: “I’d like to personally thank all of the wonderful people in the gambling and payment industry that believed in our vision and partnered with us to help provide a better gambling mobile experience for everyone.”
