UK – Casino MK delighted with ‘whirlwind’ start

By - 30 September 2013

The UK’s biggest casino outside of London has made a ‘whirlwind’ start to business with over 12,500 people passing through its doors over the first four days it was open.

The Casino MK, which predicts that 40 per cent of its customers will not actually play any of the casino games on offer, is owned by Aspers who described its offering as ‘an unparalleled selection of gaming opportunities outside the capital.’

More than 3,000 people a day have crossed the threshold to see what all the fuss is about; namely 22 live tables, 108 slots and 76 electronic gaming terminals, plus sports bar and restaurant since it opened last week.

General Manager Nigel Hartland said: “It’s been a whirlwind of a weekend and very encouraging to see so many people coming through our doors and having a great time. The responses have been very positive and we have really been welcomed in the city as a new, exciting and vibrant 24/7 entertainment venue. Almost half the people who come here will do so to relax with friends or family in an adult and relaxed atmosphere and we absolutely welcome that. Even among those who do want to play, the average spend is likely to be in the region of £30. We have an open door policy and everyone over the age of 18 is welcome.”
