UK – Casino36 kick-starts work on £12m Dudley casino

By - 17 June 2019

UK independent casino operator Casino 36 is breaking ground on its third casino in the country in the shape of a new £12m casino in Dudley in the Midlands.

Casino 36 already operates casinos in Wolverhampton and in Stockport. It is hoping to open a two-storey venue with a casino and bar on the first floor and an entertainment space on the ground floor by the summer of 2020.

Casino 36 Director Adrian Ballard hosted a ground breaking ceremony at the site attended by the Mayor of Dudley Councillor David Stanley, Dudley North MP Ian Austin and Corin Crane, Chief executive of the Black Country Chamber of Commerce.

Mr Ballard said: “We are determined to provide something that the area is lacking, and are focused on providing new facilities in a friendly and safe environment where people can relax in an exciting and fresh new setting. Dudley has, in my eye, always been a leading market town. The plans to move the area forward are admirable, and something I am keen to be involved in. I feel the opportunities our new site will provide will complement these plans and be an additional vehicle to bring much needed tourism back to the borough. When considering which new facilities to offer, we didn’t want to just cater to an existing client market.”

Councillor Stanley added: “Dudley Council is committed to supporting regeneration, investment and enterprise in Dudley borough and it was a wonderful experience to visit the site where this new business will be based.I am delighted they have chosen Dudley for this £12m development, it be a good addition to the leisure and retail offer at Castlegate.”
Mr Austin said: “I am delighted that there is new investment in Dudley and that 100 new jobs will be created for local people. There are lots of exciting things happening in the town, and I was really glad to be down at the site to be part of the ground breaking ceremony and see the start of this £12m new development.”

Mr Crane added: “Casino 36 are a great local success story and their expansion into Dudley comes after substantial investment into their casino in Wolverhampton. It will also put them in the heart of Dudley which is going through a period of huge investment from the Metro extension, the development of the Institute of Technology, the massive expansion of the Black Country Living Museum. Casino 36 will hopefully become a key part of our local tourism offer and nightlife.”
