UK – Demand for Game Payment app leaps by 800 per cent as pub sector focus on cashless machine solution
By Phil - 8 June 2020Demand for the Game Payment cashless app is growing at an exponential rate with the enterprise – jointly owned by UK trade association, bacta and Polar Moment, confirming an order book approaching 300 (as of June 3). The latest update represents an 800 percent increase on the figure covering the period up to 28 May and serves as a resounding endorsement of the app’s ability to deliver a proven cashless and age verification solution to operators, venues and players alike.
Quentin Stott, part of the team responsible for bringing Game Payment to market, believes the agreement secured with a tier one bank and the subsequent successful pilot have underlined the credentials of the app. “The space is full of apps that promise the earth but frequently fall at the first hurdle” he stated. “The tier one approval paved the way for the successful pilot. This in turn has meant that we have transitioned from concept to reality and the market now has the confidence that Game Payment is a serious piece of kit that they can add to the toolbox.
“Being able to deliver trouble free cashless AWP play has been a long-term goal of the industry but we now also have the added desire to remove cash as part of many sectors’ Covid-19 protocols. The massive spike in orders is a result of operators recognising that they can take cash out of the AWP experience and not damage what I am sure will continue to be referred to as the ‘cash box.’ The Covid-19 crisis has focused attention on the need to remove cash based transactions as much as possible and crystalised the power and ability of the app to deliver simple cashless – and with our age verification capabilities – socially responsible play.”
He added: “We are increasing production and remain confident that we can match demand as both pub companies and operators prepare for the next phase in the government’s return to work timetable. In parallel with this we are continuing development of our Game Payment AGC app which has been brought forward following huge demand from the sector.”
