UK – Gambling Commission’s participation survey

The UK Gambling Commission has published the results of its survey on the prevalence of gambling in the UK. According to a survey 57 per cent of respondents participated in at least one form of gambling in the last month; the same figure for 2012. Similarly participation in different gambling types has remained stable with the National Lottery draws (47 per cent), other lotteries (13 per cent), and scratch cards (10 per cent) still the most popular forms of gambling in the UK. Two per cent of respondents said they had played on fruit or slot machines in the past month, whilst one per cent said that they had played on virtual gaming machines in bookmakers – both equal to figures recorded in 2012.
