UK – Grosvenor Casinos to reopen 44 venues in England

Grosvenor Casinos will reopen sites in England that closed for the Covid-19 lockdown with the implementation of social distancing measures.
The casino operator, part of Rank Group, had to close branches in March. It said its 44 venues in England will welcome back customers from August 1 following last week’s government update that gave the industry the green light to reopen from that date.
Jonathon Swaine, managing director of Grosvenor Casinos, said: “The health and safety of our customers and team remains our priority. We want to create the best gaming and hospitality experience which guests know and love and a lot of work has gone into ensuring we have the highest standards of hygiene and safety measures in place to do so when we reopen.”
Former world heavyweight boxing champion, David Haye, features in a new customer journey video highlighting some of the enhanced cleaning and social distancing measures which will be introduced when Grosvenor Casinos venues return.
Upon entering the casino, customers will be expected to use hand sanitiser which will be readily available at dispensers, whilst enhanced cleaning will take place throughout each day, including tables, chips and machines.
Each casino will make screens available at all its gaming tables and between electronic machines. There will also be restrictions on the number of people who can play games at any one time.
Grosvenor Casinos will continue to accept cash and is encouraging customers to use contactless payment where possible. There will be safety shields at all tills and face masks will be offered as an option to wear.
Guests will still be able to enjoy food and drink with dining seating appropriately spaced out and can be pre-ordered at their table or from their machine, either using the online app, or by placing an order with the valet service using the disposable one-use table menus.
