UK – Grosvenor unveils major refurb at Huddersfield casino

By - 28 October 2021

Grosvenor Casino Huddersfield has completed a major refurbishment of its gaming and entertainment offer to help bring back winning nights out to the town.

The popular casino located at Folly Hall Mills has been transformed into an all-round entertainment and sports viewing experience, with a £350,000 investment to create a modern destination for enjoying good times with friends and family.

The new-look venue which first opened back in 2002, kicked off its relaunch celebrations with a special rugby league event for Leeds Charity Hospital’s appeal to raise funds for the creation of The Rob Burrow Centre for Motor Neurone Disease, which will support those living with the disease in the local area.

Local rugby league legends Jamie Jones-Buchanan from Leeds Rhinos, and Eorl Crabtree from Huddersfield Giants, joined forces to provide an evening of anecdotes and stories from their careers, club rivalries on the pitch and playing alongside, Rob Burrow.

Garry Oldfield, General Manager of Grosvenor Casino Huddersfield said: “After a challenging 18 months for the hospitality industry, we’re excited to welcome back customers to our fantastic new-look venue.

“This is a significant investment in the town’s hospitality sector and shows our commitment to creating a modern venue which will help bring back great nights out to the town, as well as helping to create lots of job opportunities for local people.

“We’d like to thank everyone for getting behind our fundraising efforts for such a worthwhile cause as The Rob Burrow Centre for Motor Neurone Disease and helping us to kick off our relaunch in style.”

The refurbishment will also create 19 new jobs and is set to hit the jackpot for sport fans who can now watch their favourite sports and live bet all under one roof. To help fuel the excitement of the improved gaming areas which includes premium gaming tables of customer favourites such as roulette and blackjack, the venue is also launching a delicious new food and drinks menu with live entertainment expected to return from November in time for party season.

There’s a new live sports viewing with live betting on grosvenorsport.com with three 82-inch screens showing sporting fixtures 24 hours a day from Sky Sports HD, BT Sport HD, and Premier Sports, a stylish bar and restaurant hosting a delicious new menu, a new spacious area for guests to play their favourite slot machines and a new installation of a premium new roulette and card table.
