UK – IMGL Masterclass brings international thought leaders to ICE

By - 12 January 2015

Gaming professionals taking advantage of the free to attend IMGL Masterclass, which is an integral part of ICE, the world’s biggest gaming expo (February 3 to 5, ExCeL Centre, London), will have direct access to a roster of international thought leaders.

These will include Joerg Hofmann, President IMGL and Senior Partner MELCHERS, Germany; Richard Schuetz, Commissioner, California Gambling Control Commission; Robert W. Stocker II, Member, Dickinson Wright PLLC, Michigan, USA; Marja Appelman, Chief Executive, The Netherlands Gaming Authority; Michael Lipton, Q.C., Senior Partner, Dickinson Wright, LLP, Canada and Joseph Cuschieri, Executive Chairman of the Lotteries and Gaming Authority, Malta.

Taking place on Wednesday February 4 at the Platinum Suite Conference Room, the IMGL Masterclass, comprises a full day of C-Level networking and learning. The five seminar topics for discussion and debate are: Shared Liquidity: How can markets and operators find enough players and cash to make it work? – A panel discussion on the impediments smaller jurisdictions with established regulation for online poker markets face when pooling resources to enter larger markets: Regulation meets Science: How to implement sound consumer protection policies in Real Money and Social Gaming? – An exploration of what measures regulators can implement to reach results that really make a difference when dealing with consumer protection including the emergence of problematic and addicted behaviour in relation to other technologies: Mergers and Acquisitions: Where will the market go and how will it deal with the change?: The effects of M&A activity on the industry as it continues to grow worldwide: Need to Know: New Opportunities and Emerging Jurisdictions: A series of rapid-fire presentations from leading gaming law practitioners outlining key developments in a number of important i-gaming jurisdictions and emerging markets and Global i-Gaming – What does compliance mean?: i-gaming compliance with the laws of new jurisdictions.

Previewing ICE, IMGL President Joerg Hofmann said: “2014 will go down as an exciting and inspiring year for IMGL during which we have hosted and supported some of the most prestigious gaming events in the world. It is therefore entirely appropriate that we should start 2015 at ICE in London, which has earned a reputation for being not only one of gaming’s most comprehensive annual events but also, with 156 nationalities represented in 2014, by far the most international. The IMGL is all about shaping the future of gaming law and the content of our Masterclass and the calibre of our speakers reflects this core objective. We are delighted, once again, to be in London at ICE and to be at the very heart of the international gaming community.”

Welcoming the IMGL, Jo Mayer, Marketing Director responsible for ICE said: “We are honoured to have Joerg and his colleagues at ICE 2015. The IMGL is an internationally respected body of thought leaders and the Masterclass adds to the overall ICE experience. It is hugely significant that alongside the world’s best gaming innovators and games creators we are able to provide a host of events, such as the Masterclass, which feature so many of the industry’s most influential thought leaders. I believe that it is this combination of business, networking and learning which makes ICE such a stand-out event on the international gaming calendar.”

The IMGL Masterclass is part of a comprehensive, schedule of free to attend ICE Seminars covering topics including Bitcoin and Crypto-currencies, Digital Think Tank, Tribal Gaming and the strategic Vision 2030, which plots the future of gaming and lotteries against four alternative future environments. The learning content at ICE is completed by the ICE Conference programme, a series of highly respected events covering all of gaming’s vertical markets. The ICE Conference programme starts on Monday 2nd February with the International Casino Conference and is followed by World Regulatory Briefing, Data Insight & Business Intelligence, Cross-Platform & Multi-Channel Gaming; Lotteries For The Future, BetMarkets and Cybercrime, Security & Regulatory Compliance.

ICE Totally Gaming is on course to eclipse its 2014 success story when an independently audited 23,506 attendees from a record 156 nations travelled to London to see the 515 exhibitors who chose it as their international shop window.
