UK – Ladbrokes launches Mirror Fantasy iTeam league

By - 25 July 2016

Online and high street bookmaker Ladbrokes are giving users of Mirror Fantasy iTeam, the market-leading fantasy football mobile app, the chance to go head-to-head in a mini-league for a prize pool worth thousands of pounds.

Users of the Mirror Fantasy iTeam app, which is free to download, will have the chance to compete for over £10,000 worth of prizes by joining the ‘Ladbrokes Free Bets League’ on mobile.

With Ladbrokes ambassador Chris Kamara taking the hot seat as the game’s chairman, entrants aged 18+ will be able to pit their wits against other players for the £1000 free bet grand prize, with the best managers also going head-to-head for 10 x £400 monthly prizes and 38 x £200 weekly prizes throughout the season.

Ladbrokes will also be promoting the game heavily throughout their shops up and down the country with the help of in-shop displays and leaflets distributed by staff.

Fantasy iTeam is one of the world’s biggest fantasy football communities, with thousands of five star reviews on the App Stores and more than 1.2 million users. The app also features real-time transfers, a live and interactive newsfeed, as well as instant scores and squad news.

Phil Shaw, Commercial Director, Fantasy iTeam, said: “We’re thrilled to be working alongside Ladbrokes ahead of the new Premier League season. Their generous prize pool will give users that extra reason to download the app and show they can create the best iTeam. The 2015/16 season was one of the most unpredictable and historic ever and there’s a real buzz ahead of the new campaign.”

Alex Donohue of Ladbrokes, said: “We’re excited to be working with Mirror Fantasy iTeam for the season ahead. After a captivating year culminating in 5000/1 shots Leicester City winning the title, all eyes will be on the Premier League and we’re proud to support one of the world’s biggest fantasy football communities.”

Mark O’Donnell, Head of Betting and Gaming, Trinity Mirror Solutions, added: “We’ve just seen a fantastic Euro 2016 – England aside – but for the Mirror, the football never stops. We’re already focusing on the new Premier League season and we’re thrilled to have Ladbrokes as our partners. With their huge shop network, we can now take the game to an even bigger audience – and what a chairman we have in Kammy… unbelievable!”
