UK – Revenues up but profits dip at Aspers

By - 14 April 2014

With gaming revenues up 43 per cent from £47.5m to £67.8m for the year to June 20, 2013, Aspers Group, has reported an ‘outstanding’ year.

Aspers actually reported a pre-tax loss of £5.4m compared to a loss of £4.6m the previous year, due in part to a £3.6m hit as a result of the closure of its Swansea casino, Salubrious Place.

The owner of the Stratford super casino said that despite being affected by the security surrounding the Olympics held close by, the Newham licence attracted 6,717 customers a day spending an average of £27.74.

On the other hand, it said trading at Aspers Newcastle was ‘disappointing’ despite there being a significant renovation of the property.
