Ukraine – Ukraine Commission Chairman to speak at UGW conference

Smile-Expo has updated the format of its Ukrainian Gaming Week 2021, separating the event into two distinct and components, conference and an exhibition, across new dates, confirming that Ivan Rudyi, Chairman of the Commission for Regulation of Gambling and Lotteries, will speak at the event.

The UGW conference will take place on February 24 at Premier Palace Hotel in Kiev. The event will feature gaming experts comprehensively answering the most pressing questions about the specifics of running a gambling business in Ukraine. The conference will unite legislators, industry leaders and everyone interested in reviving the Ukrainian gambling market.

The event program features informative presentations, panel discussions and productive networking. Speakers include representatives of the Verkhovna Rada and the gambling regulator, members of specialised associations, Ukrainian and foreign experts of various profiles. They will share expert opinion and answer guests’ questions.

The list of speakers includes:  

• Ivan Rudyi – Chairman of the Commission for Regulation of Gambling and Lotteries (pictured).

• Taras Tarasenko – People’s Deputy of Ukraine of the 9th session, a member of the Servant of the People faction.

• Marian Zablotskyi – Deputy of the Verkhovna Rada, representative of the Servant of the People faction.

• Ilya Machavariani – Senior Partner at 4H consulting agency.

• Anton Kuchukhidze – Head of the Gambling Association of Ukraine.

Experts will discuss reforming the gambling market in Ukraine, assess the main provisions of the legislation for the legalisation of gambling and analyse the restrictions in the field of gambling advertising. They will present an anti-crisis strategy for bookmakers and explain whether principles of responsible gambling will change in the future. Speakers will give examples of innovative technologies that could help operators, as well as cover further topics.

The UGW 2021 exhibition is due to take place on March 23-24 at the new venue of the KyivExpoPlaza. As a note to all those seeking to attend this event, show dates have slipped in the past, so please check the UGW website for confirmation of the dates closer to the time of the event.
