Ukraine – Storm welcomes its 1,000th casino tourist to new Shangri La Kyiv

Having opened on May 14, Storm International has been fast out of the blocks in Ukraine where it has confirmed it has already welcomed its 1,000th casino tourist to its new Shangri La casino in the five star Fairmont Hotel located in the heart of Kyiv.
Darren Keane, CEO Storm International, said: “These are representatives of different countries. I would say that at the moment our share of guests is exactly half: 50 per cent are local players and 50 per cent are tourists, guests of Fairmont Grand Hotel Kyiv and our foreign players, whom we invited to Kiev in connection with the opening of our new casino Shangri La.”
With an initial 20 table games, including American Roulette, Blackjack, four different poker games and Baccarat, Texas Hold’em tables and 80 state of the art slot machines, it is aiming to be the biggest and best casino in the best hotel in Ukraine.
At the opening, Michael Botcher Founder of Storm, said: “I am very happy to be able to open Shangri La Casino in Kyiv, I really like the atmosphere of this city, and the culture, sincerity and mentality of Ukrainians are very impressed by my values of running an honest and transparent business with my Ukrainian partners. Mr. Keane added: “We have been waiting for this for a long time and we are very happy to create jobs for Ukrainians and help the country’s economy with new tax revenues. Since December 2021, Gambling Regulatory Commission KRAIL has issued 16 licenses for gambling businesses: one for a bookmaker, four for land-based casinos, three for slot machine halls and eight for online casinos.
Storm added: “At the moment, Shangri La is the only international brand that has received permission to conduct gambling activities on the territory of Ukraine. The Shangri La brand is well known among players in Eastern Europe.
