Ukraine – Ukraine approves flat ten per cent tax rate across all gambling verticals
By Phil - 1 March 2021Ukraine’s Committee on Finance, Tax and Customs Policy has approved a flat 10 per cent tax rate across all forms of gambling.
Committee chair Oleg Marusyak presented the bill to go with the Gambling Act signed into law in August 2020. Initially different components of gambling were to be taxed at different rates with a five per cent tax on sports betting revenue, 10 per cent for online gambling and for lotteries and 12.5 per cent for slot machines.
As well as the flat rate of ten per cent gambling businesses will also have to pay an 18 per cent general corporate tax rate
Ukraine’s Gambling Commission (KRAIL) has so far approved three online licences to Spaceiks, owner of the Cosmolot brand, Parimatch and Gamedev.
