US – 888 launches US interstate poker network across three states

By - 21 May 2018

888 has successfully launched its unique interstate poker network. The ground-breaking launch means that poker players across all three regulated US states — Nevada, Delaware and now New Jersey — are able to enjoy cash games and tournaments and compete with each other for the very first time. Nevada and Delaware have been sharing poker player liquidity across the 888 Poker interstate network since March 2015.

888’s partners in the US are Caesars with WSOP, The Delaware Lottery and the All American Poker Network. This interstate network across all three regulated U.S. states allows for the pooling of players on one single platform. This enables more customers to enjoy the poker formats and tournaments that they want, when they want.

The interstate network launched with a host of new exciting tournaments and prizes, featuring a guaranteed weekly US$100k Sunday Tournament on offer to players across each of the states.

Itai Frieberger, CEO of 888 Holdings, commented: “The launch of the 888-powered interstate poker network is another significant milestone for the US iGaming market. Poker players across all three regulated states can compete with each other through the 888 unique proprietary platform.

This is great news for customers and our partners and further demonstrates 888’s commitment and unique position in the regulated U.S. online iGaming market. I would like to take this opportunity and thank the Nevada, Delaware and New Jersey regulators for initiating and supporting this effort, and hope to see additional states come aboard our poker network soon.”

Bill Rini, Head of Online Poker, WSOP.com, said: “We’re thankful for the efforts of all involved that made this milestone possible. We’ve been with 888 since Day 1 of our US operations and it’s a testament to our shared passion for poker that we’ve been able to reach this momentous achievement together.”

David Rebuck, Director of the New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement, commented: “The New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement has been happy to participate in this process and to see this implemented so expeditiously and successfully by all parties. We are pleased for the additional opportunities this agreement provides not only for online poker players in Nevada, New Jersey, and Delaware, but also for other states that may want to participate in the future.”

Vernon Kirk, Director at Delaware State Lottery, added: “The Delaware Lottery is very pleased to be able to offer Delaware’s online poker players this exciting opportunity to enhance their gaming experience.” said Vernon Kirk, director of the Delaware Lottery. “The Multistate Internet Gaming Agreement has proved to be a great vehicle for allowing its member states to take advantage of such cooperative efforts.”

Becky Harris, Chairwomen of Nevada Gaming Control, said: “The model established in 2014 by Nevada, Delaware, and 888 for shared poker liquidity between regulated jurisdictions is no longer a proof of concept. The collaborative efforts of the Nevada, Delaware, and New Jersey regulators along with 888 provided for the near seamless integration of our three jurisdictions and created a solid framework for expansion.”
