US – Arizona Department of Gaming Reports $27.6m in tribal gaming contributions to the state for third quarter of 2023

By - 12 June 2023

The Arizona Department of Gaming announced today $27,607,589 in tribal gaming contributions to the Arizona Benefits Fund for the third quarter of Fiscal Year (FY) 2023. This amount represents a 19.9 per cent per cent increase when compared to the same quarter of FY 2022.

“The state of tribal gaming in Arizona continues to impress, with a near 20 per cent increase in contributions to the state when compared to quarter three of FY 2022,” said Jackie Johnson, Director, ADG. “Since 2004, tribal gaming has contributed over $1.98bn to the state and its cities, towns, and counties. I look forward to seeing the quarter four release for FY 2023, which will undoubtedly see Arizona surpass a historic milestone of $2bn in total tribal contributions.”

The Arizona Benefits Fund receives 88 per cent of tribal gaming contributions, providing significant dollars to help support instructional improvement in schools, trauma and emergency care, tourism, and wildlife conservation throughout the state.

Per the Arizona Tribal-State Gaming Compact, Tribes with casinos contribute a percentage of their Class III gross gaming revenue to the state, cities, towns, and counties. Currently, there are 24 Class III casinos in Arizona, which ADG regulates with Arizona tribes.
