US – BOSA Digital to conclude with John Levy fireside chat

By - 5 November 2020

SBC has announced that its lineup for next month’s Betting on Sports America – Digital event now includes a closing fireside chat with theScore Founder and CEO John Levy.

Levy, who will be interviewed by CNBC’s Contessa Brewer, rounds up the list of executives delivering keynotes during the virtual conference and expo on December 1 and 2 that also includes Joe Asher, CEO of William Hill U.S., Bill Hornbuckle, CEO of MGM Resorts, Dany Garcia, Owner of the XFL, and Derek Stevens, CEO of CIrca Sports

Levy, a successful and experienced media entrepreneur, exemplifies the importance of having a strategic plan for the future. His approach led to theScore becoming the first North American media company to create and launch a sportsbook – offering an experience that fuses media and betting – and has since helped to secure access to markets across the U.S.

He founded theScore cable television network in the mid-1990s and, after growing it to become Canada’s leading independent sports broadcaster, sold to Rogers Media in 2012. However, he had the foresight to carve out theScore’s digital assets and subsequently evolved them into one of the first multi-sport news and data apps in North America.

theScore app is now used by more than four million fans a month, while theScore Bet’s mobile sports betting experience is currently available to players in New Jersey, Colorado, and Indiana.

Levy, who will use the fireside chat to share some of his experiences of and ideas for the sports betting sector, said: “With the return of sports, we’ve witnessed not just an increased appetite for the progression of regulated sports betting, but also repeated displays of the valued role sports media plays in this rapidly expanding industry. Yet, as betting develops across North America, so too are sports fans’ media and betting behaviours.

“There’s no better forum than BOSA-Digital to tackle this subject and look ahead to what the future might hold for the sports fan and bettor alike.”
